B. Establish lighting and mood.. the feel.
Make sure that your silhouettes are working before you add detail. Work loosely. Define the shapes.
Then start adding detail.
Departure, Arrival, Destination. (focal points, what’s the story?)
Knowing when to STOP.
1. Get “icons” from reference, and start sketching using notes
2. Simple vs. Complex – Straight vs. Curve
3. Find design motifs (think shapes, patterns, etc.) How does the eye move through the character?
Lastly, once you think you’ve done enough, do another one.
